1930s
Some vines remember more than we do.
Burgundy through the decades, told through vineyards that are still producing wine today. Explore the collection by the year the vines were planted.
When these vines were planted, the world looked very different.
The wines in this collection come from vineyards that have been growing through decades of history. Watch the film, then taste the same journey through the bottles below.
Shop the wines from the film ↓Six decades. Six bottles.
The wines from the film, brought together in one tasting. From Philippe Chavy’s old-vine Aligoté through to Pinot planted in the 1980s, follow Burgundy through the decades one bottle at a time.
Age is only the beginning.
Older vines often produce less fruit, focusing the vine’s work into fewer bunches.
Decades in the ground give mature vines an extensive root system and a long relationship with their site.
The appeal is not age alone, but the depth, balance and character these mature parcels can bring.
1930s
The Empire State Building was newly completed and television was still experimental. These vines were already taking root.
