Tasting Notes
A wine of power and sparkle, destined for greatness from one of Meursault's finest vineyards. Les Charmes in full, glorious voice.

The Allure of Les Charmes
Among Meursault’s “big three” premier crus - alongside Perrières and Genevrières - Les Charmes is famed for its natural opulence and irresistible early appeal. Philippe’s 2023 captures that richness but lifts it with electric energy: sherbet-like citrus, vibrant lime, and layers of complexity that keep unfurling. It’s a wine that tempts you to drink it young but rewards the patience to watch it blossom into something profound.

The Plot
Chavy’s parcel, Charmes du Dessous, covers just 0.41 ha of old vines planted in 1939 and 1947, rooted in classic clay-limestone soils. Sitting just below the slope of Perrières, the site combines power with precision, giving wines of both volume and finesse. With only about 3,000 bottles produced in a normal vintage, it’s as rare as it is exciting.
Technical Details
Hand-harvested Chardonnay, whole-bunch pressed, fermented in tank, then finished in barrel. Aged 11 months in 228L barrels (30% new oak) with 16 months’ élevage total. Bottled by hand using the traditional chèvre à deux becs.

Discover Their Story
A historic domaine in the heart of Puligny-Montrachet, crafting wines from some of the most legendary vineyards on earth.
The Chavy name rings out across Burgundy, synonymous with classically brilliant white wines. Philippe took the reins in 1990, inheriting Puligny parcels from his father (planted in the 1950s) and Meursault from his mother (going all the way back to 1932), with one of Saint-Aubin’s most iconic plots thrown into the mix.
Our Take
This could be something very special. Incredibly complex already, bursting with lemon sherbet zip and a punchy, electric energy that lights up the palate. There’s a real thrill here, and I can’t wait to see how it evolves with age.
