About this Wine
A seriously complete Fixin. Powerful and complex, but never heavy, with beautifully balanced tannins and a striking mineral thread running right through the wine. Cherry and strawberry meet darker blackcurrant and plum, with liquorice and black pepper adding another layer. There is real concentration here, but the overriding impression is one of remarkable elegance.

Tasting Notes
Powerful yet elegant Fixin, layered with dark fruit, spice and a fine mineral thread.
This has both sides of great Pinot: power and poise. Ripe cherry and strawberry lead into blackcurrant and plum, before liquorice and black pepper start to emerge. The tannins are beautifully judged, giving the wine structure without ever overwhelming it, while a persistent mineral character keeps everything fresh and precise. Complex, serious and remarkably elegant.
The Name
‘Côté Jardin’ is stage direction in French—the “garden side” of the theatre. (Much more elegant than our British “stage right”!) Paired with Côté Cour—its red sibling from the same plot—this wine is part of a duo that brings a touch of theatre to the vineyard. But Côté Jardin doesn’t play second fiddle. It takes centre stage with clarity and grace, showing the quiet power of a site that deserves the spotlight.

The Plot
Côté Cour and Côté Jardin come from the same family-owned vineyards, but tell two different stories.
The parcels lie in Les Raveray and Les Treuilles, to the north-east of Fixin, planted in 1977 and 1991.
Côté Cour comes from the richer section of the vineyard, where deeper, clay-heavy soils produce more generous fruit and greater natural power.
Côté Jardin comes from the poorer, stonier section, including tête de chat limestone, where the vines produce smaller, more concentrated berries.
For Côté Cour, that richer terroir translates into a wine with real depth and authority, yet the limestone running through these vineyards seems echoed by the fine mineral thread that persists from start to finish.
Technical Details
100% Pinot Noir, harvested by hand on 21 September 2024 from just 0.2659 hectares.
The fruit was completely destemmed, followed by an eight-day pre-fermentation at 8°C. Extraction was measured, with four punch-downs alongside predominantly gentle pumping over with low oxygen exposure.
The wine was aged for 12 months in barrel, 80% new oak, before racking directly from the bottom of the barrel and bottling without filtration.
Production was just 1,489 bottles and 10 magnums.
