Les Pucelles is one of the great Premier Cru names of Puligny-Montrachet, sitting immediately beside the Grand Cru, Bâtard-Montrachet. Morey-Coffinet owns just 0.20 hectares here, making this one of the rarest wines of the domaine.The 2023 begins with beauty: white flowers, ripe citrus, white peach and a little exotic fruit. Then it seems to pull itself tighter in the glass, becoming finer, steelier and increasingly mineral.There is richness and texture, but everything feels controlled. En Cailleret is one of the great names of Chassagne-Montrachet, a stony Premier Cru hillside where Morey-Coffinet farms just 0.65 hectares of Chardonnay.The 2023 is bright, intense and beautifully alive. Ripe citrus, white peach and orchard fruit give the wine richness and texture, while flint, salinity and a fine pithy grip pull everything into focus.There is real depth here, but never heaviness. Les Houillères sits at the northern end of Chassagne-Montrachet, close to Puligny, in a part of the village renowned for Chardonnay with freshness, tension and mineral definition.Morey-Coffinet farms 0.82 hectares here, including vines planted in 1955. The 2023 is beautifully focused, combining ripe citrus, peach and orchard fruit with a subtle creamy texture and a fine, mouth-watering grip.There is generosity, but the defining character is precision. Bright acidity carries the fruit through the palate, while a persistent mineral quality gives the wine real length and energy.A serious, beautifully composed Chassagne with both immediate appeal and the structure to develop further in bottle.
