About this Wine
A refined Nuits-Saint-Georges from old vines in Les Poisets, below Les Cailles, showing red berries, darker fruit, fine spice and a gentle savoury edge. The 2021 vintage brings freshness and restraint, shaped by a long élevage in the domaine’s final oak-aged release before the move to ceramic.
Please note: We work directly with the Domaine, therefore all wines are available strictly on allocation. The wines are intended for drinking, not trading and are priced accordingly.

Tasting Notes

Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Poisets 2021 comes from old vines in a well-placed lieu-dit below Les Cailles, giving a wine that shows the softer, more graceful side of Nuits-Saint-Georges. The 2021 vintage marks a pivotal moment for the domaine, with a long élevage in oak before Charles Lachaux’s full move to ceramic ageing from 2022 onwards.
With lift rather than weight, red berries, darker fruit, fine spice and a gentle savoury edge sit within a silky, finely structured frame. There is the firmness you expect from the village, but it is handled with restraint, giving a wine that feels fresh, poised and quietly expressive.
This is not a muscular Nuits built on power alone. Les Poisets brings a more refined, airy character, while the 2021 vintage adds freshness, clarity and a more classical sense of shape.

The Plot
Les Poisets is a village-level lieu-dit in Nuits-Saint-Georges, located below the Premier Cru Les Cailles. It is one of Arnoux-Lachaux’s more elegant expressions of the village, showing less force than the domaine’s more powerful Nuits-Saint-Georges cuvées.
The old vines help give depth and texture, but the character remains fine and lifted. In 2021, that plays beautifully into the vintage’s freshness and restraint.
Technical Details
The 2021 vintage at Arnoux-Lachaux was handled with particular care, with gentle macerations and an extended 31-month élevage before bottling in April 2024.
This was the final Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux vintage aged in a blend of oak and ceramic, before the move to full ceramic ageing from 2022 onwards. For Les Poisets, that means the wine keeps its natural Nuits-Saint-Georges structure, but with the emphasis on freshness, perfume and fine texture rather than weight or obvious oak.
