About this Wine
This is Corton turned up to eleven. Blackcurrant, coffee, and dark fruit swagger meet a mineral edge and Grand Cru polish. It’s juicy now, but destined for greatness—with structure to age, depth to impress, and a finish that struts like it owns the room.
Bold and perfumed, with blackberry, blackcurrant, cherry, chocolate, coffee and a mineral lift.

Tasting Notes
Power, poise, and Pinot at its peak. Grand Cru Corton with serious fruit, deep roots, and a finish that won’t quit.

The Grand Seducer. Juicy Now. Legendary Later.
If Corton were a person, this would be the one you shouldn’t sit next to at a wedding—because they’ll charm the socks off you and steal the show.
It starts with a burst of ripe berries—blackberry, cherry, blackcurrant—all tumbling over each other like fruit in a velvet pouch. Then come the darker layers: chocolate, rose, a touch of coffee. It’s opulent, but not overdone. Glossy, but grounded.
And that finish? Smooth and structured with a mineral snap, promising a long, slow evolution in bottle. Drink it now for its delicious decadence? I'd lay it down and watch it rise to legend.

The Plot
Les Maréchaudes sits at the base of the Corton hill, one of the few Grand Crus in Burgundy that produces red wines of such gravitas. Facing east and bathed in morning sun, the vines dig into limestone soils laced with iron-rich clay—giving depth, freshness, and that signature Corton brawn-with-brains character.

Taken in February 2025, when the vines are being prepared for Spring. The famous Hill of Corton looks down across these incredible vineyards.

Verified Trustpilot ReviewFAQs
Clear details, so you can buy with confidence
Is this wine ready to drink now?
This will benefit from time in the cellar. You can open it now if you enjoy youthful energy, but patience should bring more depth, harmony and complexity.
Should I buy one bottle or a few?
One to try, three if you want to follow it over time, six if you already know the producer or style. Burgundy moves quickly, and small parcels rarely hang around for long.
What if I’m not sure this is my style?
Use our live chat, or pop us an email. We specialise in Burgundy and are always happy to help. Our tasting notes are based on wines tasted by our founders and updated regularly, so you can buy with proper confidence.
How quickly will it arrive?
Fast. We ship every wine on a next-working-day service and dispatch Monday to Friday. At checkout, you can even choose a delivery day that suits you.
How is it packed?
Each bottle is wrapped in tissue before being carefully placed into our specially imported Italian boxes, tested to rigorous standards. We have literally dropped them from the first storey of our house. All our packaging is paper-based and recyclable.
Can I send it as a gift?
Absolutely. As standard, our wines arrive wrapped in bespoke tissue paper. At checkout, you can also add gift bags, gift boxes and notes.
