There’s a new generation behind Domaine Frey. Now led by Caroline Frey’s sister, Delphine Frey alongside young cellar master Axelle Piska, formerly of Domaine Étienne Sauzet, the seven-hectare estate is entering an exciting new chapter.
From Pommard, Volnay and Meursault to the slopes of Aloxe-Corton, its tiny range culminates in three Grands Crus, including their own Monopole, Corton Grand Cru ‘Le Clos du Château’. Organic farming, biodynamic principles and a new precision in the cellar are putting this historic domaine firmly back on the map.

This very youthful and tightly wound Corton is refined, but also has a fascinating dark side. I love the candied orange, dried flower and hot dry earth character that is woven into the deep, beautifully ripe red fruit aromas. Great concentration and a stack of fine tannins on the compact, medium- to full-bodied palate. Very long, powerful licorice and spice finish.

Domaine Frey is entering a new chapter under Delphine Frey and cellar master Axelle Piska. With just seven hectares and holdings stretching from Pommard and Meursault to Aloxe-Corton, the estate combines historic vineyards with a renewed focus on precision, farming and site expression.

The domaine’s small vineyard holdings span some of the Côte de Beaune’s most recognisable villages, including Pommard, Meursault, Auxey-Duresses, Savigny-lès-Beaune and Aloxe-Corton. At the top of the range sit three Grands Crus, including the domaine’s own Corton Grand Cru ‘Le Clos du Château’ Monopole.

The new generation at Domaine Frey is bringing greater precision to the cellar while keeping the character of each site at the centre of the wines. The range moves from silky, fragrant Bourgogne Pinot Noir through structured village and Premier Cru reds to powerful, mineral Grand Cru whites and reds.
Two of the most distinctive wines in the range come from monopole vineyards: Savigny-lès-Beaune ‘Clos des Guettotes’ and Corton Grand Cru ‘Le Clos du Château’. The latter comes from a tiny parcel within the château grounds and sits at the very top of the domaine’s red-wine range.

Why we’re excited
Domaine Frey feels like a historic estate entering one of its most exciting periods. Delphine Frey and Axelle Piska are bringing fresh energy and precision to a remarkable collection of vineyards, while organic farming and biodynamic principles keep the focus firmly on the land.
The range is small but serious, stretching from beautifully perfumed Bourgogne Pinot Noir to monopole wines and three Grands Crus. There is already real clarity and ambition here, and it feels like a domaine worth following closely. Burgundy Wine Club
