Tasting Notes
A rich, golden Viré-Clessé made from overripe grapes, with honeyed depth, truffle notes and signature Bongran freshness.

A golden, generous and unmistakably Bongran expression of off-dry Viré-Clessé.
La Cuvée Levroutée takes its name from an old local dialect word, linked to the golden-brown colour grapes take on as they reach deep over-ripeness. It is a wine built around richness and roundness, but with the freshness that makes Domaine de la Bongran so distinctive.
This is not lean, sharp Chardonnay. It is deeper, broader and more textural, with powerful notes of acacia honey and truffle, balanced by the lift and clarity of the Quintaine terroir.
For anyone who enjoys white Burgundy with weight, complexity and a slightly more indulgent feel, La Cuvée Levroutée is a brilliant bottle to explore.

The Plot
The soils are Oxfordian white marls, helping to bring freshness and structure to a wine that is naturally rich and intense. The result is a generous but balanced Viré-Clessé, with honeyed depth, savoury complexity and the fresh finish that defines the domaine.
Technical Details
In Quintaine, Domaine de la Bongran produces some of the most individual wines in Viré-Clessé. La Cuvée Levroutée comes from the tradition of harvesting grapes at deep over-ripeness, giving the wine its golden colour, round texture and distinctive aromatic depth.
