Fresh lime tint to the colour. This is surprisingly racy. Very good tension on the palate, a significant mouthful, a touch of cream at the finish, impressive length. The Narvaux may need more time, but today I am slightly preferring the straight Meursault. In the future, perhaps not.

Les Narvaux is one of those Meursault names that carries weight far beyond its village classification. And Philippe’s 2024 makes a pretty compelling case for why.
His parcel sits in Les Narvaux Dessous, immediately above Premier Cru Les Genevrières, and the wine has the presence you’d hope for from such a celebrated terroir.
This is broad, powerful Meursault. Lemon and lime lead into ripe nectarine and peach, with real weight through the middle, creamy richness and a gentle buttery character.
The tension is the key. For all the richness and power, there’s a brilliant line of acidity running straight through it, keeping everything fresh, energetic and incredibly well balanced. Jasper Morris found exactly that contrast too, calling the 2024 surprisingly racy and highlighting its tension, significant mouthfeel and impressive length.
There’s something wonderfully complete about it. The depth and stature of Narvaux, but with enough drive and freshness to make the whole thing feel effortless.

The Plot
Les Narvaux is one of Meursault’s most celebrated village lieux-dits, sitting high on the slope above the village and alongside some of its most famous vineyards.
Philippe’s vines are in Les Narvaux Dessous, directly below the Premier Cru Les Genevrières, with celebrated holdings of Domaine des Comtes Lafon alongside.
The parcel was planted in 1957, giving Philippe nearly 70-year-old vines in one of the appellation’s great terroirs.
Its reputation is exactly why Narvaux so often stands apart from straightforward village Meursault: this is a site capable of delivering real concentration, structure and length while retaining the freshness that defines the best examples.
Technical Details
Hand-harvested Chardonnay, whole-bunch pressed, fermented in tank before finishing malolactic in barrel. Aged 11 months in 228L oak barrels, 10–20% new, with 16 months’ élevage in total.

A historic domaine in the heart of Puligny-Montrachet, crafting wines from some of the most legendary vineyards on earth.
The Chavy name rings out across Burgundy, synonymous with classically brilliant white wines. Philippe took the reins in 1990, inheriting Puligny parcels from his father (planted in the 1950s) and Meursault from his mother (going all the way back to 1932), with one of Saint-Aubin’s most iconic plots thrown into the mix.
