Gevrey-Chambertin
Blackberry- Blackberry, blackcurrant and cherry with peppery spice and liquorice
- Silky, structured tannins and a fresh mineral line
- Bold Gevrey depth with earth, mushroom and vanilla lift

About this Wine
This isn’t a Gevrey that tiptoes in politely! It bursts through the door with blackberries, blackcurrants and spice in full surround sound. There’s real grip here, but it’s all wrapped in velvet – firm, elegant, and impeccably balanced. Young, yes, but already strutting like a seasoned performer. One for your greatest hits list.
Bold and brooding, with blackberry, blackcurrant and cherry, peppery spice, silky structure, and a mineral finish.

Tasting Notes
The favourite wine of Napoleon? We can see why... Wine in surround sound - blackberries, spice, and swagger.

Napoleon’s Pick. Old-School Power, New-School Poise.
The moment you pour, it’s like surround sound in a glass—blackberries, cherries, and blackcurrant burst forward in technicolour. Then comes the spice: pepper, vanilla, a flicker of liquorice. It's bold, it’s brooding, but somehow still walks with elegance, like a general in full regalia who also knows how to dance.
There’s structure and energy here, with tannins that are firm but impeccably polite. The finish? Earth, mushroom, and minerality that keep echoing long after your last sip. It’s the kind of bottle that makes you want to sit a little straighter and pour a little slower.
📍 The Place
Crafted by Ludivine Griveau for Pierre Mayeul, this wine hails from vines rooted deep in the limestone and clay of Gevrey’s storied slopes. A name etched into Burgundian history and yes, the favourite village of one Napoleon Bonaparte. Gevrey-Chambertin is known for power with finesse, this 2021 vintage carries the torch beautifully.
