Dark cherry, blackcurrant and ripe mulberry give this a deeper, richer feel, but Pézerolles remains beautifully elegant, lifted and mineral. The vineyard name is thought to come from “Poizerolles”, an old French word for chickpeas, once grown here in the Middle Ages. Made with 50% whole bunch and aged in oak.
Dark-fruited and lifted, with cherry, blackcurrant, subtle spice, mineral freshness and a silky, structured feel.

Tasting Notes
Elegant, mineral Pommard with dark cherry, blackcurrant and a beautifully refined, deeper character.

Pézerolles shows the darker side of Pommard with real elegance.
Dark cherry and blackcurrant dominate, alongside ripe mulberry, subtle spice and a pronounced mineral character. It has greater depth and richness than Chanlins, yet remains lifted, refined and beautifully controlled.
A serious Pommard, but never a heavy one.

The Plot
Les Pézerolles lies on the eastern side of Pommard, at around 300 metres altitude, where clay-limestone soils and excellent drainage help give the wine its freshness and mineral character.
Its name is thought to derive from “Poizerolles”, an old French word for chickpeas, which were once grown here during the Middle Ages.
Technical Details
Made with 50% whole bunch and aged entirely in oak, adding structure around the darker fruit while preserving freshness and perfume.

Verified ReviewerFAQs
Clear details, so you can buy with confidence
Is this wine ready to drink now?
This will benefit from time in the cellar. You can open it now if you enjoy youthful energy, but patience should bring more depth, harmony and complexity.
Should I buy one bottle or a few?
One to try, three if you want to follow it over time, six if you already know the producer or style. Burgundy moves quickly, and small parcels rarely hang around for long.
What if I’m not sure this is my style?
Use our live chat, or pop us an email. We specialise in Burgundy and are always happy to help. Our tasting notes are based on wines tasted by our founders and updated regularly, so you can buy with proper confidence.
How quickly will it arrive?
Fast. We ship every wine on a next-working-day service and dispatch Monday to Friday. At checkout, you can even choose a delivery day that suits you.
How is it packed?
Each bottle is wrapped in tissue before being carefully placed into our specially imported Italian boxes, tested to rigorous standards. We have literally dropped them from the first storey of our house. All our packaging is paper-based and recyclable.
Can I send it as a gift?
Absolutely. As standard, our wines arrive wrapped in bespoke tissue paper. At checkout, you can also add gift bags, gift boxes and notes.
