Les Poisets sits right alongside the revered Les Saint-Georges, yet has long been overlooked amongst the breadth of Arnoux-Lachaux’s holdings. Not in 2022. Vivid, concentrated and already beautifully composed, this is a Nuits-Saint-Georges with its own unmistakable voice.
Please note: We work directly with the Domaine, therefore all wines are available strictly on allocation. The wines are intended for drinking, not trading and are priced accordingly.

Tasting Notes
Vivid cassis, red and black fruit and remarkably soft tannins. One of Arnoux-Lachaux’s most overlooked wines, and one of 2022’s grea

These Nuits cuvées have a habit of being overlooked, quietly lost among the sheer breadth of Arnoux-Lachaux’s holdings. After tasting them together, Charles and I talked about just how often they’re passed by. That stops here.
Les Poisets sits right alongside the revered Les Saint-Georges, but it doesn’t borrow stature. It has its own voice. And in 2022, that voice is impossible to ignore.
The colour is vivid, alive. The nose is all fruit and momentum. Red and black fruits collide, with cassis surging through the centre, sweet, intense and utterly compelling.
On the palate, the tannins are already soft, almost disarming, giving the wine an ease that belies its depth. There is concentration here, but without heaviness, the fruit carrying everything forward.
And like every Arnoux-Lachaux 2022, there is a striking purity to it. This was the first vintage in which the entire range was raised exclusively in ceramic, stripping away the aromatic imprint of oak and allowing the fruit and vineyard to speak with remarkable directness.
This is not a supporting act. Ignore it at your peril.

The Plot
Les Poisets lies immediately alongside Les Saint-Georges, one of the most revered vineyards in Nuits-Saint-Georges.
That proximity inevitably invites comparison, but this wine is at its best when allowed to stand on its own. In 2022, it delivers vivid fruit, impressive concentration and an unusually supple feel for Nuits-Saint-Georges, with the darker cassis character providing a clear sense of place.
It is exactly the sort of parcel that can disappear beside the more famous names in the cellar. Tasted alongside them, it deserves far more attention.
Technical Details
2022 marks a turning point at Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux. It was the first vintage in which every wine from the domaine was raised entirely in ceramic, completing Charles Lachaux’s move away from traditional oak élevage.
The wines spent an extended 36 months in neutral Clayver ceramic vessels before bottling. The objective is clarity rather than flavour from the vessel itself: no toast, no oak-derived aromatics, simply fruit, structure and vineyard character allowed to develop without distraction.
Whole grapes remain central to the domaine’s winemaking, while in the vineyard Charles continues his distinctive approach of permanent ground cover and tall, untrimmed vines.
For Les Poisets, that combination feels particularly revealing. The naturally darker, more concentrated character of Nuits-Saint-Georges is present, but the ceramic élevage leaves the fruit extraordinarily vivid and the tannins remarkably exposed, already soft and beautifully integrated.

Discover Their Story
There are turning points in every great region. Moments where tradition meets vision, and something extraordinary happens. For Burgundy, one of those moments is Charles Lachaux with the family domaine, Arnoux-Lachaux.
Since taking the reins of his family domaine in 2012, Charles has transformed Arnoux-Lachaux into one of the most closely followed names in the region. The wines are now among the most sought-after in the world – not for their rarity alone, but for their clarity, precision, and sense of life.
Our Take
Reading back through my notes, one word recurs like a heartbeat: perfume. Not as a throwaway cliché, but as a presence that truly rises from the glass. These 2022s may still be infants, but the leap forward Charles and the team have achieved is astonishing.
Never before has each wine been so immediately, unmistakably itself with just a single breath over the rim.
The oak veil has been lifted, and the great beauty of the Pinot Noir grape is on full show.
This release feels like a turning point in Burgundian history. A new era beginning to unfold.
