No deeper in colour though the bouquet is interestingly complex. There is a light chocolate note along with the pepper and darker fruit, very harmonious on the palate. Interesting how well this approach has worked on this wine.
About this Wine
A Clos de Vougeot with real authority, but none of the heaviness. Deep blackberry, plum and dark cherry sit alongside black pepper, liquorice and a subtle earthy note, while 75% whole bunch brings lift and aromatic complexity. Powerful, certainly, but beautifully refined, with a silky texture and real finesse through the finish.
Floral and lifted, with blackberry, plum, dark cherry, black pepper and a subtle earthy edge.
“Excellent wines from small producers which you can’t find elsewhere.”

Tasting Notes
Deep, powerful Clos de Vougeot with black fruit, liquorice, pepper and remarkable finesse.

This is Clos de Vougeot with power and finesse in equal measure. The fruit is deep and dark, with blackberry, plum and dark cherry at the core, followed by black pepper, liquorice and a subtle earthy, almost iron-like edge. There is real concentration here, but the wine never feels cumbersome.
The 75% whole bunch gives the wine lift and spice, while the mix of ceramic and oak keeps the texture polished and the fruit remarkably clear.
All the authority you want from Clos de Vougeot, carried with a surprisingly light step.

The Plot
The domaine farms around 0.60 hectares in Clos de Vougeot, split between two prized lieux-dits: roughly one-third in Musigni, bordering Musigny, and two-thirds in La Garenne.
Together they give a compelling mix of perfume, depth and structure. Musigni brings lift and finesse, while La Garenne contributes more breadth and power.
Technical Details
Made with 75% whole bunch and aged in a 50/50 mix of ceramic amphora and oak. The ceramic preserves freshness and purity, while the oak gives the wine breadth, structure and texture.
