Good balanced colour. The nose is currently restrained but has depth. On the palate this wine has a bundling energy, a trace of toast from the barrel to exactly the right degree, lively and remarkably persistent. Light grapefruit with multiple orchard notes.
About this Wine
This is seriously impressive Meursault. Tiny yields of just 25hl/ha, half the standard have given enormous concentration, but it’s the freshness that makes it: citrus, orchard fruit, subtle toast and a deliciously salty mineral finish. Powerful, energetic and very, very good.
The fruit from some of the village’s most coveted sites, including most of the fruit coming from vines planted as far back as 1932.

Tasting Notes
Old-vine magic from vineyards brushing shoulders with Premier Cru. The result is seriously concentrated.
Philippe harvested barely half his normal crop here in 2024, at just 25hl/ha, and you can feel that concentration immediately. There’s real depth and density to the fruit, with lemon, grapefruit and orchard fruits filling the palate, yet it never feels cumbersome.
Instead, there’s a fantastic energy running through it. A restrained touch of toast from the barrel adds complexity, while a slightly salty, mineral character keeps everything fresh and pulls you into a remarkably long finish.
Jasper Morris found that same combination, describing “bundling energy”, perfectly judged toast and remarkable persistence, scoring it 91–93 points.
This has the power you want from Meursault, but plenty of precision alongside it. Confident, structured and seriously concentrated, with enough freshness and salinity to hold everything together.

The Plot
The domaine farms just 0.86 ha across these sites, with vines reaching back to 1932, 1945 and 1957. That maturity brings density and concentration, while the mix of sites gives both richness and tension - Meursault at its most complete sitting the classic clay & limestone soil.
That considerable vine age, combined with the exceptionally low yields of 2024, has produced a wine with unusual depth and concentration for a village Meursault.
Technical Details
Hand-harvested Chardonnay, whole-bunch pressed, fermented in tank before finishing malolactic in barrel. Aged 11 months in 228L oak barrels, 10–20% new, with 16 months’ élevage in total.

A historic domaine in the heart of Puligny-Montrachet, crafting wines from some of the most legendary vineyards on earth.
The Chavy name rings out across Burgundy, synonymous with classically brilliant white wines. Philippe took the reins in 1990, inheriting Puligny parcels from his father (planted in the 1950s) and Meursault from his mother (going all the way back to 1932), with one of Saint-Aubin’s most iconic plots thrown into the mix.
