About this Wine
Two expressions of Vosne-Romanée from A.F. Gros, offered side by side.
Aux Réas is the more structured of the two: dark cherry, violet and smoky clove, with toasted spice and a firm, limestone-driven grip beneath the silkiness. Maizières moves deeper into black fruit, with real density, blackcurrant and delicate Vosne spice.
Together, they offer a fascinating look at how two neighbouring expressions of Vosne-Romanée can take the same domaine style in subtly different directions.
Perfumed and smoky, with dark cherry, blackcurrant, violet, clove and a silken mineral grip.

Tasting Notes
So silky it purrs. So structured it roars. Aux Réas in all its glory. Top-tier Vosne-Romanée, followed by collectors. Here for you

Vosne-Romanée ‘Aux Réas’ 2023
Dark cherry and violet lead into smoky clove and toasted spice. There’s plenty of silk here, but this is no lightweight Vosne. The palate has layered depth and a firm structural core, tightening as it sits in the glass. Beautiful now, but built with the shape and grip to develop further in bottle.
Vosne-Romanée ‘Maizières’ 2023
Deeper and darker in profile, with blackcurrant at its centre and delicate spice running through the nose. There is a sense of density here without heaviness, the fruit concentrated and composed, with that unmistakable Vosne combination of perfume, depth and finesse.

The Plot
Aux Réas gives the more architectural expression: darker red fruit, florals, spice and a pronounced sense of structure.
Maizières is broader and deeper, moving towards blackcurrant and darker fruit, with greater density and a more immediately enveloping feel.
Rather than simply two bottles of Vosne-Romanée, this is a chance to taste two distinct expressions of the village through the lens of the same grower and vintage.
Technical Details
These wines were fermented with around 50% whole bunches for added lift and structure. Ageing took place in a 50/50 split of ceramic and oak barrels, with no more than 20% new oak. The use of ceramic helps retain purity and aromatic finesse, while oak adds structure and depth. A beautifully poised Vosne with a firm spine and real ageing potential.

Discover Their Story
A.F. Gros is where two great Burgundy families, Gros and Parent come together.
Now led by siblings Caroline and Mathias Parent, this next-gen duo brings fresh energy to a legacy of precision.
From Bourgogne to Richebourg, every wine gets the same care: whole bunch ferments, ceramic ageing, and a quiet radicalism behind the classic style.
Our Take
“Vosne in a Velvet Suit. Sultry, Spicy, and Seriously Built.”
I first tasted this cuvée as a 2014, fourteen years old and still strutting. The fruit had incredible weight and density, yet the texture was pure silk: black cherry laced with spice, and that trademark peppery kick still dancing. The 2023 already shows that same DNA — poised, powerful, and built to go the distance.
