An incredibly rare beauty. Meix Trouhans comes from just 325m² of Chardonnay, high on the slopes of Fixin and tantalisingly close to Premier Cru territory. Adèle describes it as following the same line as Côte Jardin, but with another level of depth and intensity. Only 228 bottles and 10 magnums were made in 2024. A microscopic white Burgundy from two of the Côte de Nuits’ most exciting young growers.
Crisp and mineral, with zesty freshness, rounded body, chalky depth, and a precise, lingering finish.

Tasting Notes
325m² of vines. 228 bottles. One of the rarest wines in the Messager-Germain cellar.

We weren’t able to taste Meix Trouhans in 2024. There simply wasn’t enough of it.
That perhaps tells you everything you need to know about this cuvée. Simon and Adèle farm only 0.0325 hectares, and the entire vintage yielded just 228 bottles and 10 magnums.
What we do know is that Adèle sees Meix Trouhans as a continuation of Côte Jardin, but with greater depth and intensity. The site sits higher on the Fixin slope, with deep clay bringing weight and structure while fragmented Jurassic limestone keeps that distinctly mineral Côte de Nuits backbone.
After tasting just how electric Côte Jardin is in 2024, the promise here is enormous.

The Plot
Meix Trouhans lies on the edge of Clos Meix Trouhans, higher up the slopes of Fixin than Simon and Adèle’s other parcels.
And it is tiny. 0.0325 hectares means just 325m² of vines, planted to Chardonnay in 2015.
The soils combine brown clay with fragmented Jurassic limestone, with a north-south exposure. The deeper clay gives Chardonnay substance, power and breadth, while the limestone brings the mineral tension that defines the best whites of this part of Fixin.
It is an extraordinarily small piece of Burgundy, producing an extraordinarily small amount of wine.
Technical Details
The Chardonnay was harvested by hand on 20 September 2024.
Whole bunches underwent a long pneumatic pressing of around 2 hours 30 minutes, followed by 86 hours of cold settling at 8°C. Fermentation took place in stainless steel.
The wine then spent 12 months on its fine lees in a single one-year-old 228-litre barrel before filtration and bottling.
Total production in 2024 was just 228 bottles and 10 magnums.

Discover Their Story
Famille Messager-Germain is Burgundy’s next big thing: bold, bright, and born to shake things up.
Adèle and Simon trained in Beaune, cut their teeth with icons like Groffier and Drouhin, and came home to Fixin to revive old family vines.
Now they’re bottling tiny, thrilling cuvées that fuse deep roots with fearless ambition.
Our Take
It’s easy to think all the best white Burgundy comes from the Côte de Beaune, but ignore the whites of Fixin at your peril. In the 1800s, Dr Lavalle classified Fixin Blanc just behind Montrachet and Meursault.
This micro-cuvée from Adèle and Simon shows you exactly why. An absolutely joyous rendition of unbridled, pure electric energy. Citrus, minerality and tension fly through the wine, but there’s still real beauty and balance underneath it all.
