The interplay of earthiness, moderately dry tannins and generous red fruit aromas makes this an authentic modern expression of the appellation. Good savory complexity and a focused, stony finish. From three sites, Les Colombes, Morais and Les Paulands. From organically grown grapes.

Tasting Notes
Crunchy dark fruit, mushroom and forest-floor depth with silky tannins. A superbly savoury Aloxe-Corton from the domaine's back-yard
“This is our maison, our home.”
That was how Domaine Frey described Aloxe-Corton when we tasted with them, and it gives this wine a little more meaning. This is the village they know intimately, the landscape around the domaine itself, and the wine feels wonderfully assured because of it.
There is plenty of fruit, but it is the savoury side that makes this so compelling. Crunchy blackberry and dark cherry sit alongside strawberry, black pepper and clove before the wine moves into deeper notes of mushroom, damp earth and forest floor. It has real Burgundian character without becoming heavy or rustic.
The tannins are fine and silky, giving the wine shape while keeping everything beautifully fluid. There is freshness through the middle, an earthy complexity that keeps building in the glass and a focused, mineral finish. A seriously good village Aloxe-Corton and one of those wines that becomes more interesting with every sip.

The Plot
Domaine Frey is based in Aloxe-Corton, at the foot of the famous Corton hill.
This cuvée comes from three village parcels: Les Colombes, Morais and Les Paulands, bringing together different expressions of the appellation into one composed, savoury wine.
Aloxe-Corton is often associated with Pinot Noir of greater structure and earthiness, and that character comes through beautifully here, balanced by vivid fruit and surprising finesse.
Technical Details
Pinot Noir from organically farmed vineyards in Aloxe-Corton, harvested by hand and produced according to Domaine Frey’s organic and biodynamic approach.
The 2020 vintage gives the wine generous fruit, but there is plenty of freshness and definition beneath it. Fine tannins, savoury spice and earthy complexity lead into a long, stony finish.

Discover Their Story
There’s a new generation behind Domaine Frey. Now led by Caroline Frey's sister, Delphine Frey alongside young cellar master Axelle Piska, formerly of Domaine Étienne Sauzet, the seven-hectare estate is entering an exciting new chapter.
From Pommard, Volnay and Meursault to the slopes of Aloxe-Corton, its tiny range culminates in three Grands Crus, including their own Monopole, Corton Grand Cru ‘Le Clos du Château’. Organic farming, biodynamic principles and a new precision in the cellar are putting this historic domaine firmly back on the map.
