Superbly positioned just beyond Romanée-Conti and La Romanée, Aux Reignots occupies the perfect mid-slope exposition. Year after year, it goes toe to toe with Romanée-Saint-Vivant at the tasting table. Premier Cru by classification, but unmistakably Grand Cru in everything but name.
The 2022 is sensual, dark-fruited and completely assured. It also comes from the Domaine’s first vintage raised entirely in ceramic.

Tasting Notes
Dark cherry, flowers and an earthy undertone from one of Vosne’s most extraordinary Premier Cru sites.

Superbly positioned just beyond the vineyards of Romanée-Conti and La Romanée, Aux Reignots occupies the perfect mid-slope exposition.
Year after year, it goes toe to toe with Romanée-Saint-Vivant at the tasting table. Premier Cru by classification, but unmistakably Grand Cru in everything but name.
The bouquet is formidable. If you’re another winemaker, it’s the kind of wine that must feel deeply inconvenient. For the rest of us, it’s pure pleasure.
Fruit, yes. Flowers, yes. But there’s something more beneath it all. An earthy undertone, quietly grounding the perfume, drawing you in the way the opening lines of a great novel do.
You want to keep reading. You have no choice.
On the palate, the wine leans into darker fruit. Think ripe, dark red cherry, mouth-filling and seamless.
There’s real luxury here, not in weight, but in texture.
Sensual. Delectable. Completely assured.
And in 2022, that remarkable texture and perfume are shown with unusual clarity. This was the first vintage in which the entire Arnoux-Lachaux range was raised exclusively in ceramic, leaving the vineyard to speak without the imprint of oak.
Uncompromisingly brilliant. Charles Lachaux at his inimitable best.

The Plot
Aux Reignots occupies one of the most extraordinary positions in Vosne-Romanée.
It sits just beyond Romanée-Conti and La Romanée, on the mid-slope where exposition and drainage are close to ideal.
Its classification may read Premier Cru, but its position and performance at the tasting table tell a more serious story. Year after year, it stands comfortably alongside some of the greatest wines in the cellar.
The 2022 carries that pedigree with ease: dark fruit, perfume, earth and extraordinary textural refinement.
Technical Details
2022 marks a defining moment at Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux: the first vintage in which every wine from the Domaine was raised entirely in ceramic.
The wines spent an extended 36 months in neutral Clayver ceramic vessels before bottling. By removing the aromatic and structural imprint of oak, Charles is looking for the clearest possible expression of fruit, texture and vineyard.
Whole grapes remain central to the winemaking, alongside the Domaine’s distinctive vineyard work of tall, untrimmed vines and permanent vegetation between the rows.
Aux Reignots is one of the most compelling wines in which to see that philosophy at work. Its natural perfume, darker fruit and almost Grand Cru-level texture need no embellishment. The ceramic élevage simply leaves that character fully exposed.

Discover Their Story
There are turning points in every great region. Moments where tradition meets vision, and something extraordinary happens. For Burgundy, one of those moments is Charles Lachaux with the family domaine, Arnoux-Lachaux.
Since taking the reins of his family domaine in 2012, Charles has transformed Arnoux-Lachaux into one of the most closely followed names in the region. The wines are now among the most sought-after in the world – not for their rarity alone, but for their clarity, precision, and sense of life.
Our Take
“Uncompromisingly brilliant. Charles Lachaux at his inimitable best.”
Reading back through my notes, one word recurs like a heartbeat: perfume. Not as a throwaway cliché, but as a presence that truly rises from the glass. These 2022s may still be infants, but the leap forward Charles and the team have achieved is astonishing.
Never before has each wine been so immediately, unmistakably itself with just a single breath over the rim.
The oak veil has been lifted, and the great beauty of the Pinot Noir grape is on full show.
This release feels like a turning point in Burgundian history. A new era beginning to unfold.

How quickly will it arrive?
Fast. We ship every wine on a next-working-day service and dispatch Monday to Friday. At checkout, you can even choose a delivery day that suits you.
How is it packed?
Each bottle is wrapped in tissue before being carefully placed into our specially imported Italian boxes, tested to rigorous standards. We have literally dropped them from the first storey of our house. All our packaging is paper-based and recyclable.
Can I send it as a gift?
Absolutely. As standard, our wines arrive wrapped in bespoke tissue paper. At checkout, you can also add gift bags, gift boxes and notes.
