An Aligoté that quite literally stole the show. When we took three sommeliers to Burgundy in February, this was their wine of the trip, despite tasting some extraordinary Grand Crus. Wonderfully aromatic, with delicate white flowers, vibrant lime and ripe nectarine, there’s a beautiful generosity to the fruit, a subtle touch of toasted oak and a remarkably long, expressive finish. An absolutely exceptional Aligoté from Adrien Guyon.
Floral and bright, with lime, ripe nectarine, brioche, and a fresh, mineral finish.

Tasting Notes
Three sommeliers. Some extraordinary Grand Cru Burgundy. Their wine of the trip? This Aligoté. Floral, vivid and unforgettable.

The Aligoté That Stole the Show.
In February, we took three sommeliers to Burgundy for a few days of extraordinary wine. We tasted some truly remarkable bottles, including some of the region's finest Grand Crus. But when it came to choosing their wine of the trip, all three agreed on something rather unexpected.
This. An Aligoté. And quite frankly, I can understand why!
Adrien Guyon's 2024 is a wonderfully expressive wine. The nose is absolutely beautiful, bursting with delicate flowers, elderflower and vibrant lime, followed by ripe nectarine and melon. There's a lovely suggestion of toasted oak in the background, adding complexity without distracting from that gorgeous fruit.
On the palate, there's a remarkable balance between freshness and generosity. Beautifully ripe fruit gives the wine a wonderful sense of depth, while a lively, mineral freshness carries everything through to an impressively long finish.
This is the sort of wine that reminds me why I love Burgundy so much. Sometimes the most extraordinary discoveries come from the most unexpected places.
And when an Aligoté can steal the show from Grand Cru Burgundy, you know you've found something rather special.

The Plot
The Aux Graviers parcel is home to approximately 60-year-old Aligoté vines, rooted in clay-limestone soils. These mature vines provide the foundations for a wine of remarkable character, combining the natural vibrancy of Aligoté with an impressive generosity of fruit and texture.
Technical Details
Produced from 100% Aligoté, with grapes harvested by hand and fermented using indigenous yeasts. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in vat, with malolactic fermentation in barrel. The 2024 sees no new oak, allowing the beautifully expressive floral aromatics and purity of fruit to take centre stage, while a delicate toasted character adds complexity to the finish.
