Tasting Notes
Rich, powerful Meursault with lemon, hazelnut and cream, cut through by striking minerality, tension and a seriously long finish.
Rich, broad and powerful from the first sip, with a creamy texture and layers of toasted hazelnut, ripe lemon and gently buttery richness. Yet underneath all of that weight is a serious line of minerality and tension, keeping the wine focused and giving it a sense of energy rather than heaviness.
That balance is what makes it so compelling. The palate feels generous and luxurious, but there is always something pulling it forward. Citrus freshness cuts through the creamier notes, the mineral character becomes more pronounced with air, and the finish just keeps going.
The white wines at Domaine Frey are made by Axelle Piska, who trained at Domaine Etienne Sauzet, and you can feel that combination of richness and precision particularly clearly here.

The Plot
Les Narvaux sits on the slopes of Meursault, where limestone and marl play a major role in the character of the Chardonnay.
Domaine Frey works 0.3104 hectares here, with vines averaging around 35 years old.
The soils combine calcareous marl with ancient limestone and marlstone, giving the wine the mineral backbone and tension that sit beneath its naturally generous Meursault character.
Technical Details
The Chardonnay is harvested by hand before whole-cluster pressing in a pneumatic press, followed by static clarification.
Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation take place in oak barrels, where the wine remains for around nine months before bottling.
That élevage gives the wine its creamy breadth and subtle toastiness, while the natural freshness and mineral character of Les Narvaux keep everything beautifully controlled.

Discover Their Story
There’s a new generation behind Domaine Frey. Now led by Caroline Frey's sister, Delphine Frey alongside young cellar master Axelle Piska, formerly of Domaine Étienne Sauzet, the seven-hectare estate is entering an exciting new chapter.
From Pommard, Volnay and Meursault to the slopes of Aloxe-Corton, its tiny range culminates in three Grands Crus, including their own Monopole, Corton Grand Cru ‘Le Clos du Château’. Organic farming, biodynamic principles and a new precision in the cellar are putting this historic domaine firmly back on the map.
