A very aromatic wine for this commune, with flinty energy accenting the sour cherry and red rose aromas. Still quite firm at the front of the medium-bodied palate, but the compact chalky minerality gives this impressive depth in the focused finish. Excellent aging potential. From organically grown grapes.
About this Wine
A deeply concentrated Premier Cru from Domaine Frey’s home village, with an almost purple intensity to the fruit. Black cherry, plum and blackcurrant lead into liquorice, clove and stony minerality, all carried by beautifully supple & silky tannins.
Deeply aromatic and richly composed, with black cherry, plum and blackcurrant, liquorice, clove, and a stony mineral thread.
“Excellent wines from small producers which you can’t find elsewhere.”

Tasting Notes
Deep, concentrated Aloxe-Corton with black cherry, plum and liquorice, wrapped in silky tannins and stony minerality.
This is one of the wines in the Frey range that immediately grabs your attention.
The nose is deep, rich and incredibly concentrated, with a dark, almost purple-fruited character. Black cherry, plum and blackcurrant sit at the core, with liquorice, clove and a subtle savoury spice building around them.
For all that intensity, the wine remains beautifully composed. The tannins are supple and polished, giving the fruit real shape without hardening the palate, while a stony, chalky mineral thread brings freshness and precision through the finish.
It is a powerful expression of Aloxe-Corton, but also a remarkably refined one: concentrated, aromatic and layered, with real depth from the first glass.

The Plot
Les Petites Lolières is a Premier Cru vineyard in Aloxe-Corton, the village where Domaine Frey is based.
The parcel sits between roughly 200 and 300 metres altitude, on reddish-brown soils rich in siliceous stones and limestone debris. Depending on the section, the soils move between pebbly, clay-rich and marly textures.
Domaine Frey works 0.531 hectares here, with vines averaging around 45 years old.
The site forms part of the landscape immediately surrounding the domaine, making this another wine closely tied to Frey’s home territory in Aloxe-Corton.
Technical Details
The Pinot Noir is hand-harvested and sorted parcel by parcel in small crates before fermentation in temperature-controlled concrete tanks.
Fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts before the wine spends 15 months in oak barrels.
The result is a wine of impressive concentration and aromatic depth, but with enough freshness and minerality to keep the richness beautifully controlled.

Discover Their Story
There’s a new generation behind Domaine Frey. Now led by Caroline Frey's sister, Delphine Frey alongside young cellar master Axelle Piska, formerly of Domaine Étienne Sauzet, the seven-hectare estate is entering an exciting new chapter.
From Pommard, Volnay and Meursault to the slopes of Aloxe-Corton, its tiny range culminates in three Grands Crus, including their own Monopole, Corton Grand Cru ‘Le Clos du Château’. Organic farming, biodynamic principles and a new precision in the cellar are putting this historic domaine firmly back on the map.
