This Savigny-les-Beaune has more delicacy than a lot of wines from what is often considered a blockbuster vintage for red Burgundy. It’s brimming with sour cherries and just beginning to pick up some of the earthy notes of early maturity. Beautiful balance for a non-1er Cru wine from Savigny. A nicely rounded, medium-bodied palate with an almost soft finish. From organically grown grapes.
About this Wine
Beautifully elegant Savigny-lès-Beaune from Domaine Frey’s Clos des Guettotes monopole. Pure and silky, with waves of fresh cherry, delicate florals and incredibly fine tannins. The domaine held back its 2020s until they felt ready to drink, and this now has a wonderfully composed, luxurious feel.
Floral and silky, with fresh cherry, strawberry, rose, violet, and a gentle mineral thread.
“Excellent wines from small producers which you can’t find elsewhere.”

Tasting Notes
Silky, elegant Savigny with fresh cherry, floral lift and extraordinarily fine tannins. A beautifully mature 2020 monopole.
There is something wonderfully luxurious about this Savigny, because everything feels so fine.
Fresh cherry runs right through the wine, joined by strawberry, rose and violet, with a gentle mineral and earthy undertone beginning to emerge with age. The tannins are exceptionally fine, giving the wine a pure, silky texture that seems to glide across the palate. Elegant, beautifully balanced and already incredibly pleasurable to drink.
Domaine Frey deliberately held back its 2020 wines at the domaine until they felt ready for release. That extra time has been particularly kind to the Clos des Guettotes, softening the edges of the vintage while retaining the freshness and perfume that make Savigny-lès-Beaune so charming.

The Plot
Clos des Guettotes is a monopole of Domaine Frey in Savigny-lès-Beaune, giving the domaine complete control over the farming and expression of this individual site.
Savigny is often prized for the delicacy and fragrance of its Pinot Noir, and this is very much that side of the appellation: fresh red fruit, floral perfume and finesse rather than weight.
Technical Details
Pinot Noir from Domaine Frey’s organically farmed Clos des Guettotes monopole, harvested by hand and produced according to the domaine’s organic and biodynamic approach.
The 2020 vintage was retained in the domaine’s cellars rather than released immediately, allowing the wine additional time to settle and develop before reaching the market. Today it shows beautifully integrated tannins, vivid red fruit and the soft, silky texture that defines the wine.

Discover Their Story
There’s a new generation behind Domaine Frey. Now led by Caroline Frey's sister, Delphine Frey alongside young cellar master Axelle Piska, formerly of Domaine Étienne Sauzet, the seven-hectare estate is entering an exciting new chapter.
From Pommard, Volnay and Meursault to the slopes of Aloxe-Corton, its tiny range culminates in three Grands Crus, including their own Monopole, Corton Grand Cru ‘Le Clos du Château’. Organic farming, biodynamic principles and a new precision in the cellar are putting this historic domaine firmly back on the map.

Each bottle is wrapped in tissue before being carefully placed into our specially imported Italian boxes, tested to rigorous standards. We have literally dropped them from the first storey of our house. All our packaging is paper-based and recyclable.
Can I send it as a gift?
Absolutely. As standard, our wines arrive wrapped in bespoke tissue paper. At checkout, you can also add gift bags, gift boxes and notes.
