About this Wine
Robardelle is always one of Pierrick Bouley’s most immediately seductive wines, and the 2023 is absolutely bursting with fruit.
Raspberry, blackcurrant and ripe cherry flood the palate, but the wine never feels heavy or overdone. Everything is held together by bright acidity, fine tannins and Pierrick’s trademark precision. Rich, generous and enormously appealing.
Lifted and perfumed, with raspberry, blackcurrant and cherry, plus violet, liquorice and a chalky edge.
“Excellent wines from small producers which you can’t find elsewhere.”
Verified Trustpilot Review“The service has always been personal and excellent.”
Verified Trustpilot Review“Great wines, very reasonably priced, and customer service is excellent.”
Verified Trustpilot Review“Ben is super friendly, knowledgeable and takes time out to make sure you are assisted personally.”

Tasting Notes
A superbly concentrated Volnay, packed with raspberry and blackcurrant fruit, yet impeccably balanced and beautifully refined.

The Finest Alcoholic Ribene. That is genuinely what Robardelle reminds me of, in the very best possible way.
There is an extraordinary abundance of dark, juicy fruit here, led by raspberry and blackcurrant, with the kind of concentration that immediately fills the mouth. Yet it remains impeccably balanced, with freshness, fine tannin and just enough structure to keep all that fruit beautifully composed.
Jasper Morris found “impressive concentration” and noted that the fruit appears immediately on the palate, then persists through a long finish with acidity and tannin in harmony.
This is Volnay with real generosity, but without losing any of its finesse.

The Plot
Robardelle is a Volnay Premier Cru lying on the southern side of the appellation, towards Pommard.
The site tends to produce a richer, more deeply fruited expression of Volnay, with greater breadth and concentration than some of the village’s more delicate vineyards. In Pierrick’s hands, that generosity is matched by precision, freshness and beautifully controlled tannins.
It is a particularly compelling vineyard for anyone who loves Volnay’s perfume but wants a little more power and fruit intensity.
Technical Details
The 2023 was produced from a tiny yield of just 20 hectolitres per hectare, contributing to the wine’s remarkable concentration.
Pierrick fully destems his red grapes and works with native yeasts, carrying out vinification with minimal intervention and no sulphur during fermentation. The wine was matured with zero new oak, allowing the purity and intensity of the fruit to remain firmly at the forefront.
Jasper Morris scored it 91–93 points, praising its bright purple colour, concentrated raspberry nose, persistent fruit and harmonious balance of acidity and tannin.
