About this Wine

A six-bottle case for anyone who wants red Burgundy at its most charming: bright red fruit, silky texture, fine tannins, soft spice and just enough structure to keep things interesting. It moves from the juicy, fragrant Bourgogne Pinots of Modot-Guyon and Messager-Germain, through the lifted freshness of Alain Gras’ Saint-Romain and the deeper savoury pull of Pierre Mayeul’s Gevrey-Chambertin, before landing on Pierrick Bouley’s elegant Volnay and A.F. Gros’ Signature Mathias Parent, a seriously polished bottling with Premier Cru pedigree.

Tasting Notes

A red-fruited Burgundy case with Volnay silk, Gevrey depth, Saint-Romain lift and two brilliant Bourgogne Pinots.

The Silky Red Burgundy Case

This is Burgundy with perfume, polish and a very dangerous habit of disappearing quickly. Expect red cherry, raspberry, wild strawberry and soft woodland spice, wrapped in fine tannins and that smooth Pinot Noir texture people fall for hard. There’s freshness from Saint-Romain, depth from Gevrey, elegance from Volnay, and enough oak-kissed texture to give the whole case a little extra glow without ever feeling heavy.

The Line-Up

Modot-Guyon and Messager-Germain bring the pure Bourgogne Pinot pleasure: juicy, red-fruited, fragrant and easy to open. Alain Gras’ Saint-Romain adds lift, freshness and a lovely mountain-side brightness, while Pierre Mayeul’s Gevrey-Chambertin brings darker fruit, savoury spice and a bit more Côte de Nuits muscle. Pierrick Bouley’s Volnay is the silky heart of the case, all elegance, perfume and fine detail. Then A.F. Gros Signature Mathias Parent gives the final flourish: polished, serious, generous and quietly Premier Cru in all but attitude.

This is not red Burgundy for waiting around and wondering when it might be ready. It’s for pulling corks, pouring generous glasses and remembering why Pinot Noir from Burgundy has such a grip on people.

FAQs

Clear details, so you can buy with confidence

Is this wine ready to drink now?

Yes. This is ready to drink now and should give plenty of pleasure straight away. Open it for its perfume, texture and charm rather than waiting for the perfect distant moment.

Should I buy one bottle or a few?

One to try, three if you want to follow it over time, six if you already know the producer or style. Burgundy moves quickly, and small parcels rarely hang around for long.

What if I’m not sure this is my style?

Use our live chat, or pop us an email. We specialise in Burgundy and are always happy to help. Our tasting notes are based on wines tasted by our founders and updated regularly, so you can buy with proper confidence.

How quickly will it arrive?

Fast. We ship every wine on a next-working-day service and dispatch Monday to Friday. At checkout, you can even choose a delivery day that suits you.

How is it packed?

Each bottle is wrapped in tissue before being carefully placed into our specially imported Italian boxes, tested to rigorous standards. We have literally dropped them from the first storey of our house. All our packaging is paper-based and recyclable.

Can I send it as a gift?

Absolutely. As standard, our wines arrive wrapped in bespoke tissue paper. At checkout, you can also add gift bags, gift boxes and notes.
