Vinelights
The Boldest of Beauties. Corton, But Make It Couture.
This wine doesn’t whisper. It walks in, takes up space, and leaves you spellbound. A brooding mix of blackberry, blackcurrant and plum meets the sultry spice of black pepper and liquorice, all wrapped in fine, sculpted tannins. There’s richness and weight here, but also refinement — like a velvet curtain brushing past a stone wall. Tasted young, it’s clearly built for the long haul, but already struts with confidence.
📍 The Plot
Corton is the only red Grand Cru in the Côte de Beaune, and this cuvée channels its full might. Grown on steep limestone-rich slopes under organic principles and hand-harvested with care, the wine takes its power from the terroir and its polish from the winemaker. Mathias Parent continues to elevate the domaine’s reputation with a precise yet decadent touch.
🍇 Technical
Made from purchased grapes, this Corton Grand Cru was vinified with 50% whole bunches to bring aromatic lift and structural definition. Élevage took place in equal parts ceramic and oak barrels (50/50), with no more than 20% new oak used. The inclusion of ceramic vessels ensures a pure, unadorned expression of Corton’s bold and mineral-driven fruit — preserving power while refining texture. It’s Grand Cru with focus, flair, and a firm grip.
