Vinelights
100-year-old vines. One plot. No backup dancers.
Here’s an Echézeaux that steps out from the crowd — a wine where the whole bunch magic isn’t just a footnote. The nose bursts with ripe strawberry and raspberry, drawing you in with its playful charm. On the palate, that same fruit carries on, but it’s the lift from the whole bunch fermentation that adds just the right amount of structure and a long, persistent finish. And then, as if to seal the deal, a fractional coffee note sneaks in at the end, adding complexity and a hint of mischief.
📍 The Plot
Located in Loachausses — one of Echézeaux’s most prized sub-climats — this 0.533 ha vineyard has vines over 100 years old. Farmed sustainably and harvested by hand, it’s a site with altitude, drainage, and that elusive Echézeaux perfume. This is the domaine’s first time bottling it solo, and it feels like a statement of intent.
🍇 Technical
Crafted with 50–80% whole bunch fermentation, then aged in a balanced mix of 50% ceramic and 50% oak barrels (with 50% new oak – 25% overall), this cuvée preserves its vibrant fruit character while building a firm yet playful grip. It’s a Grand Cru that invites you to enjoy its journey.
