Vinelights
Golden Hour in a Glass.
This Puligny-Montrachet feels like the first sip of sunshine after a summer storm. There’s peach and apricot up front: bright, fleshy, and joyful. Quickly joined by honeysuckle, salty almonds and citrus zest. But it’s no fruit bomb. The structure is lean, clean, and mineral, with just enough flint and vanilla to whisper sophistication. A soft veil of smoke and a flicker of honey finish it off. Elegant yet expressive, this is Puligny with both polish and personality.
📍 The Plot
From the golden slopes of Puligny-Montrachet, this Chardonnay hails from vines grown on limestone-rich soils that bring a trademark clarity and minerality to every sip. Pierre Mayeul’s organic-minded approach lets the terroir speak with quiet authority. Producing a wine that reflects the warm 2022 vintage with grace, not weight. It’s Puligny as it should be: floral, mineral, refined.
🍇 Technical
The grapes were harvested at perfect ripeness, showing golden skins and excellent balance. Whole bunches were gently pressed in a pneumatic press, with juice settled over 24 hours before fermentation in barrel (50% new oak). Fermentation was slow, with only a few bâtonnages. Aged for 17 months on fine lees without collage and just a light filtration, this wine expresses the warmth of the vintage while preserving tension and freshness.
