Vinelights
Burgundy’s Best-Kept Secret, Bottled.
This isn’t just water, it’s Burgundy in its purest, most elemental form. Still, calm, and shimmering with a whisper of minerality, Villeminfroy flows like silk across the palate, soft yet structured, finishing with a subtle saline lift that speaks of its ancient limestone source. It’s the perfect foil to a grand cru, a whispered pause between sips of brilliance.
📍 The Plot
Deep beneath the hills of Villeminfroy in southern Burgundy, a protected aquifer filters rainwater through Jurassic limestone and clay for over a decade before it emerges, naturally enriched with calcium and magnesium. The spring was first discovered in 1828 and remains one of France’s officially recognised natural mineral sources, bottled directly at the site to preserve its purity and delicate balance.
🍇 Technical
Naturally still mineral water from the Villeminfroy spring in Saône-et-Loire, Burgundy. Lightly mineralised (residue dry at 180°C: approx. 170 mg/L), with balanced calcium (53 mg/L), magnesium (10 mg/L), and bicarbonates lending softness and freshness. Bottled at source, unprocessed and microbiologically pure.
