Vinelights
The Grand Seducer. Juicy Now. Legendary Later.
If Corton were a person, this would be the one you shouldn’t sit next to at a wedding—because they’ll charm the socks off you and steal the show.
It starts with a burst of ripe berries—blackberry, cherry, blackcurrant—all tumbling over each other like fruit in a velvet pouch. Then come the darker layers: chocolate, rose, a touch of coffee. It’s opulent, but not overdone. Glossy, but grounded.
And that finish? Smooth and structured with a mineral snap, promising a long, slow evolution in bottle. Drink it now for its delicious decadence? I’d lay it down and watch it rise to legend.
📍 The Plot
Les Maréchaudes sits at the base of the Corton hill, one of the few Grand Crus in Burgundy that produces red wines of such gravitas. Facing east and bathed in morning sun, the vines dig into limestone soils laced with iron-rich clay—giving depth, freshness, and that signature Corton brawn-with-brains character.
Taken in February 2025, when the vines are being prepared for Spring. The famous Hill of Corton looks down across these incredible vineyards.
