Mid crimson with pale rim. While there is some raspberry and alpine strawberry fruit, the pepper and spice of the stems are also prominent. Yet in this wine they all combine deliciously, especially on the palate. A fine long finish with adequately ripe fruit.
About this Wine
A beautifully aromatic Vosne-Romanée from Maizières, right on the boundary with iconic Premier Cru, Les Suchots. Raspberry, alpine strawberry and red cherry sit alongside floral notes, pepper and fine spice, with 50% whole bunch adding extra lift and complexity. A 50/50 mix of ceramic and oak keeps the wine pure, supple and distinctly Vosne.
Floral and silky, with raspberry, alpine strawberry, red cherry, pepper, and a fine mineral edge.

Tasting Notes
Perfumed, spicy Vosne with raspberry, red cherry, alpine strawberry and a fine floral lift.

This is exactly where Vosne starts to become very seductive.
The 2024 Maizières is all about perfume and detail, with raspberry, alpine strawberry and red cherry lifted by floral notes, pepper and gentle spice. There is a lovely sense of energy through the palate, with fine structure and a long, precise finish.
A village Vosne with serious pedigree and plenty of charm.

The Plot
Maizières sits directly beside Les Suchots, one of Vosne-Romanée's most celebrated Premier Crus. The vineyard is gently sloping, well drained and east facing, producing a particularly expressive, red-fruited and perfumed style of Vosne.
That position gives it a little extra intrigue for a village-level wine, sitting right on the doorstep of some of the appellation's great terroirs.
Technical Details
Made with 50% whole bunch and aged in a 50/50 mix of ceramic and oak.
