Bourgogne Pinot Fin is the domaine’s entry point in name only: Pinot Fin drawn mainly from parcels around the Côte de Nuits, carrying the perfume, finesse and restless energy that define Charles Lachaux’s wines. The 2019 is graceful and immediately charming, with alpine strawberry, subtle chocolate notes, a noble purple colour and a delicate, red-fruited lift. This is Bourgogne with real Côte de Nuits character, made without new oak to preserve its purity and pleasure.
Please note: We work directly with the Domaine, therefore all wines are available strictly on allocation. The wines are intended for drinking, not trading and are priced accordingly.

Tasting Notes

This may be Bourgogne by name, but in the hands of Arnoux-Lachaux it feels anything but ordinary. Bourgogne Pinot Fin sits at the entrance to the domaine’s range, yet it carries the same energy, perfume and fine-boned precision that have made Charles Lachaux one of the most talked-about growers in Burgundy.
In the glass, the 2019 is lifted, floral and beautifully alive. Red berries, rose petal, delicate spice and a fine mineral line all move through the wine with real clarity. There is fruit here, but not weight for weight’s sake. It is graceful, vivid and detailed, with the kind of texture and movement that makes it feel far beyond its regional classification.
What makes this wine so compelling is that it does not try to behave like a small wine. It has the aromatic lift of Chambolle, the spice and silk of Vosne, and the darker, more grounded pull of Nuits-Saint-Georges. It is not a simplified Bourgogne. It is a Côte de Nuits wine in miniature.

The Plot
Bourgogne Pinot Fin comes from Bourgogne-level vines across three of the Côte de Nuits’ most revered villages: Chambolle-Musigny, Vosne-Romanée and Nuits-Saint-Georges, with vines planted in the 1960s and 2015.
These are not declassified village wines, but proper Bourgogne parcels below, giving the wine its own identity rather than making it a by-product of grander labels.
Technical Details
This is not Pinot Noir, but rather “Pinot Fin”, the ancient, low-yielding relative of Pinot Noir that produces tiny, intensely concentrated berries.
Drawn from Bourgogne parcels below Chambolle-Musigny, with further fruit from the Nuits-Saint-Georges and Vosne-Romanée border. It is handled with the same care as the domaine’s grander wines, but without new oak in 2019, keeping the focus on perfume, purity and the delicate red-fruited character of the wine.
