Attractive mid crimson. The nose is quite quiet but the classy, lacy, petits fruits rouges start to appear on the palate. A distinguished and graceful Echezeaux which can take 75% whole bunches.

Tasting Notes

Exceptionally pure, elegant Echézeaux from century-old vines, with vivid red fruit, finesse and remarkable transparency.

Echezeaux Grand Cru

This is Echézeaux at its most refined.

The fruit is remarkably pure, with raspberry, strawberry and red cherry carried by floral perfume, fine spice and a subtle savoury complexity. There is concentration here, but the real appeal is the finesse. The wine feels lifted, silky and beautifully precise rather than heavy.

The high proportion of whole bunch brings extra perfume and structure, while the predominantly ceramic élevage lets the fruit and vineyard speak with exceptional clarity.

A very elegant Grand Cru, built around purity rather than power.

The Plot

This Echézeaux now comes exclusively from Loächausses, following the division of family vineyards.

The domaine’s parcel is around 0.53 hectares, with vines more than 100 years old. That combination of old vines and a single, clearly defined sector gives this bottling a particularly strong sense of identity.

Loächausses is one of the more prized parts of Echézeaux, producing wines with perfume, detail and finesse rather than brute force.

Technical Details

Made with up to 75% whole bunch and aged predominantly in ceramic, with a smaller proportion in oak. The ceramic élevage preserves purity, freshness and transparency, while the whole bunch adds perfume, spice and fine structure.

Domaine A.F. Gros

Discover Their Story

Domaine A.F. Gros

A.F. Gros is where two great Burgundy families, Gros and Parent come together.

Now led by siblings Caroline and Mathias Parent, this next-gen duo brings fresh energy to a legacy of precision.

From Bourgogne to Richebourg, every wine gets the same care: whole bunch ferments, ceramic ageing, and a quiet radicalism behind the classic style.

Is this wine ready to drink now?

This will benefit from time in the cellar. You can open it now if you enjoy youthful energy, but patience should bring more depth, harmony and complexity.

Should I buy one bottle or a few?

One to try, three if you want to follow it over time, six if you already know the producer or style. Burgundy moves quickly, and small parcels rarely hang around for long.

Use our live chat, or pop us an email. We specialise in Burgundy and are always happy to help. Our tasting notes are based on wines tasted by our founders and updated regularly, so you can buy with proper confidence.

How quickly will it arrive?

Fast. We ship every wine on a next-working-day service and dispatch Monday to Friday. At checkout, you can even choose a delivery day that suits you.

How is it packed?

Each bottle is wrapped in tissue before being carefully placed into our specially imported Italian boxes, tested to rigorous standards. We have literally dropped them from the first storey of our house. All our packaging is paper-based and recyclable.

Can I send it as a gift?

Absolutely. As standard, our wines arrive wrapped in bespoke tissue paper. At checkout, you can also add gift bags, gift boxes and notes.
