About this Wine
Only the second vintage in which Clos des Danguerrins has been bottled separately from the main Chambolle-Musigny cuvée. High-density, terraced and sitting just a stone’s throw from Musigny, this is already one of the most fascinating wines in the Arnoux-Lachaux cellar.
2022 also marks the Domaine’s first vintage raised entirely in ceramic, bringing extraordinary clarity to a site Charles has been exploring since the earliest days of his viticultural transformation.
Please note: We work directly with the Domaine, therefore all wines are available strictly on allocation. The wines are intended for drinking, not trading and are priced accordingly.

Tasting Notes
Dark cherry, alpine strawberry and black tea from one of Chambolle’s most compelling lieux-dits.

This is only the second vintage where Clos des Danguerrins has been bottled on its own, separated from the main Chambolle cuvée. It’s also one of the earliest sites where Charles began experimenting with his viticultural approach, and it feels further along for it, more settled, more assured.
There’s a striking freshness and mineral drive from the outset. Dark cherry leads on the nose, before the palate opens into sublime alpine strawberry. A gentle note of black tea weaves through the wine, adding depth and quiet complexity.
The tannins are beautifully placed, the texture refined, the whole impression effortlessly classy.
Don’t mistake the elegance for a lack of concentration. It’s there, unmistakably so.
And in 2022, that precision feels even more exposed. This was the first vintage in which the entire Arnoux-Lachaux range was raised exclusively in ceramic, removing the aromatic influence of oak and allowing the fruit and site to come through with remarkable directness.

The Plot
Clos des Danguerrins is planted at exceptionally high density, around 11,000 to 12,000 vines per hectare, and terraced between roughly 270 and 310 metres in altitude.
The vineyard sits just a stone’s throw from Musigny. It’s not the first time a vigneron has quietly pointed me towards this corner of Chambolle and said: pay attention.
They were right.
It is also an important site in Charles Lachaux’s own story, being one of the earliest vineyards in which he began pushing his new approach to viticulture. By 2022, the vines feel fully at home within that philosophy.
Technical Details
2022 marks a major turning point at Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux: the first vintage in which the entire range was raised exclusively in ceramic.
The wines spent an extended 36 months in neutral Clayver ceramic vessels before bottling. By removing the aromatic and structural contribution of oak, Charles is pursuing an increasingly transparent expression of fruit, soil and vineyard.
Whole grapes remain fundamental to the winemaking, while the vineyard itself is farmed at extremely high density, with tall vines and permanent vegetation forming part of Charles’s distinctive approach
Clos des Danguerrins feels particularly suited to that philosophy. Its natural freshness, mineral drive and fine Chambolle texture are left completely exposed, with the ceramic élevage adding nothing extraneous to a wine that already has enormous detail of its own.

Discover Their Story
There are turning points in every great region. Moments where tradition meets vision, and something extraordinary happens. For Burgundy, one of those moments is Charles Lachaux with the family domaine, Arnoux-Lachaux.
Since taking the reins of his family domaine in 2012, Charles has transformed Arnoux-Lachaux into one of the most closely followed names in the region. The wines are now among the most sought-after in the world – not for their rarity alone, but for their clarity, precision, and sense of life.
Our Take
Reading back through my notes, one word recurs like a heartbeat: perfume. Not as a throwaway cliché, but as a presence that truly rises from the glass. These 2022s may still be infants, but the leap forward Charles and the team have achieved is astonishing.
Never before has each wine been so immediately, unmistakably itself with just a single breath over the rim.
The oak veil has been lifted, and the great beauty of the Pinot Noir grape is on full show.
This release feels like a turning point in Burgundian history. A new era beginning to unfold.
