Wine Details
Fourrier’s Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2024 is the doorway into one of Burgundy’s great cellars, but there is nothing ordinary about it. This is Bourgogne Pinot Noir from one of Burgundy’s true giants, drawn exclusively from the Côte de Nuits, with fruit from Gevrey-Chambertin, Fixin and Nuits-Saint-Georges.
And there is no second-class treatment here. The same hands, the same patience and the same quiet obsession that shape the Premier and Grand Cru wines are at work in this bottle. What you get is Fourrier in its most immediate, joyous form: perfume, silk, lift and that beautiful sense of fruit suspended in air.
It rises from the glass with red cherries, wild strawberries, crushed raspberries and rose petals, all carried by a cool Côte de Nuits freshness. Nothing heavy. Nothing pushed. Just bright red fruit, gentle savoury grip, fine tannins and the unmistakable handwriting of the domaine.
This is not a “simple” Bourgogne Rouge. It is the doorway into one of Burgundy’s great cellars, a bottle that shows you the signature before the great vineyards start speaking in full voice.
The Plot
This Bourgogne Pinot Noir is drawn exclusively from the Côte de Nuits, with fruit from Gevrey-Chambertin, Fixin and Nuits-Saint-Georges. That matters. This is not Bourgogne fruit from scattered, anonymous parcels. It comes from the same northern Côte that gives Fourrier its most famous wines.
Gevrey gives depth. Fixin gives energy. Nuits-Saint-Georges gives shape. Fourrier gives the magic. The result is a Bourgogne Rouge with far more detail, perfume and structure than the classification alone would ever suggest.
Technical
The 2024 Bourgogne Pinot Noir is 100% destemmed and fermented with native yeasts, using Fourrier’s gentle infusion-style approach rather than heavy extraction. Everything is handled with restraint: careful fruit, short cold maceration, delicate movement in the cellar and no attempt to force colour, tannin or power.
The wine is raised with 0% new oak, keeping the focus entirely on purity, perfume and fresh Côte de Nuits fruit. No dressing up, no oak gloss, just red cherry, wild strawberry, crushed raspberry, rose petal, fine tannins and the clean, lifted precision that makes Fourrier so recognisable.
