Wine Details
Electric Meursault. Energy Over Opulence.
Le Cromin, sometimes called Clos du Cromin, sits right in the heart of Meursault and consistently delivers some of the most exciting wines in the village.
The nose is immediate and intense. Struck match, citrus oil, green apple, a touch of smoke, all layered over a deep, stony core.
On the palate, it’s all energy. Racy, saline, almost electric. There’s texture and presence, but everything is driven forward by a line of acidity that keeps it tight, focused, and alive. Lemon, orchard fruit, and a hint of butter sit within that structure, never spilling over.
There’s something slightly wild beneath it all. Less about comfort, more about tension and movement.
This is Meursault with real substance, but seen through a sharper lens.
The Plot
Le Cromin, often referred to as Clos du Cromin, lies in the centre of Meursault on classic clay-limestone soils. Its position and soil composition contribute to wines that balance depth and texture with a marked mineral drive and freshness, often showing a more energetic, precise side of Meursault.
Technical
100% Chardonnay from the Le Cromin parcel in Meursault, grown on clay-limestone soils in the heart of the village.
In the cellar, the approach follows the domaine’s signature style. Whole bunches are pressed long and firmly to extract maximum lees, with controlled oxidation only at this early stage. Fermentation takes place in custom 456-litre barrels for both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, keeping oak influence subtle and allowing the vineyard to lead. From pressing to bottling, the wine is protected with nitrogen, preserving its tension, energy, and mineral precision.
