After nearly two decades of silence, Modot-Guyon & Fils roared back to life with a single gunshot fired by Adrien Guyon to mark the Chambolle-Musigny based domaine’s rebirth, it echoed through the vines like a signal: the family legacy was alive again.
The estate dates back to the early 1800s, but production abruptly stopped in 2004 following a family tragedy. The vines were leased out, the cellar fell silent, and for years, the name faded. Until now.
In 2023, Adrien took back the reins and launched with a serious debut lineup: seven cuvées from Coteaux Bourguignons to Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru Les Fuées, all from old vines and made with minimal intervention. These are not side projects. These are the flagships: unfined, unfiltered, and full of intent.
From Tragedy to Trigger: A Domaine Reborn
From the taut, 60-year-old-vine Aligoté, to the layered, 100% whole-cluster “Les Creux Baissants” Chambolle-Musigny, Adrien’s style is clear: no shortcuts, no gloss, just purity and place. The vines are old (some pre-World War II), the cellar work is precise, and nothing gets in the way of the fruit.

A Micro-Domaine with Serious Intent
This is small-scale Burgundy with serious pedigree. Adrien’s focus is on authenticity, finesse, and letting the terroir speak. Old vines, minimal handling, and gentle élevage define the style. A light touch in the vineyard, entirely horse-ploughed in some plots.
The wines are unfined, unfiltered, and expressive, crafted with intuition and respect. No flashy tech or heavy-handed winemaking.
Despite being only one vintage in, the domaine’s direction is clear: purity, precision, and deep roots in the land.

What's next for Adrien?
Domaine Modot-Guyon will be reclaiming even more of his family land, including two Premier Cru plots in ‘Les Lavrottes’ and ‘Les Charmes’, plus a Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes cuvée. The domaine may be just 4.5 hectares today, but the ambition, and the energy is unmistakable.
This isn’t a revival. It’s a renaissance. And it started with a bang.
