Tasting Notes
Broader, deeper, more expressive. Chassagne with intent.

Reduction, Power, and Chassagne in Full Voice.
A beautifully positioned parcel, sitting just below Premier Cru La Maltroie.
The nose is unmistakable. Smoky reduction, fresh popcorn, a touch of burnt butter straight away. Then it opens. Pear, citrus peel, white flowers, all layered over that signature flinty edge.
On the palate, it expands. Broader and more coating than others in the range, showing the natural generosity of Chassagne. There’s a savoury, mineral core running right through it, giving shape and direction. Apricot and orchard fruit bring just enough richness to balance the drive.
The acidity keeps everything in line. Crisp, saline, persistent. It carries the wine through to a long, structured finish.
This is Chassagne with more presence. More depth. Where reduction and terroir work together, not against each other.

The Plot
Les Chênes is a village-level parcel in Chassagne-Montrachet, located just below the Premier Cru La Maltroie. This prime position benefits from similar geological influences, with classic clay-limestone soils that bring both structure and breadth. The site naturally produces wines with more weight and presence, while retaining freshness and minerality.
Technical Details
100% Chardonnay from the Les Chênes parcel in Chassagne-Montrachet, organically farmed and positioned just below Premier Cru La Maltroie on clay-limestone soils.
In the cellar, the approach follows the domaine’s signature style. Whole bunches are pressed long and firmly to extract maximum lees, with controlled oxidation only at this early stage. Fermentation takes place in custom 456-litre barrels for both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, limiting oak influence and allowing the terroir to show clearly. From pressing to bottling, the wine is protected with nitrogen, preserving freshness, tension, and that hallmark smoky reduction.

Discover Their Story
The story begins in 2017. At just eighteen years old, Pierre-Vincent Girardin founded his own domaine, working with a handful of exceptional vineyard parcels retained from his family’s historic holdings.
Raised in Meursault and shaped by generations of Burgundian winemaking, he works organically in the vineyards and has rapidly forged a style defined by purity, precision and energy. Already being compared to Coche-Dury & Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey, from the first taste, it’s clear why.
Why It Matters
The details that tell the story
