Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier is one of Burgundy’s most historic estates, founded in 1863 and today run by Frédéric Mugnier, who took full responsibility for the family domaine in 1985.
From Chambolle-Musigny, Les Amoureuses and Musigny to the family’s monopole Clos de la Maréchale in Nuits-Saint-Georges, the wines are built around purity. Frédéric’s approach is deliberately restrained, with careful work in the vineyard and as little technological intervention as possible in the cellar, allowing each site to speak with remarkable clarity.
The result is Burgundy at its most refined: fragrant, precise and beautifully detailed, with an elegance that never comes at the expense of depth or longevity.

Founded in 1863, the domaine is now led by Frédéric Mugnier, who has been fully responsible for the family estate since 1985. Across Chambolle-Musigny and Nuits-Saint-Georges, the focus is on clarity, restraint and allowing each vineyard to express itself without unnecessary intervention.
The domaine’s holdings stretch from Chambolle-Musigny and its great Premier and Grand Cru sites to the family’s monopole Clos de la Maréchale in Nuits-Saint-Georges. These very different terroirs are treated with the same objective: preserve the character of the site and let the vineyard lead.
Frédéric’s approach is deliberately restrained, with as little technological intervention as possible in the cellar. The emphasis is on purity, precision and detail, producing wines that are fragrant and refined without sacrificing depth or longevity.
Clos de la Maréchale is the family’s monopole in Nuits-Saint-Georges and one of the domaine’s most distinctive holdings. Alongside the great Chambolle-Musigny wines, it gives the range a second, contrasting expression of the Côte de Nuits.
