One of the rarest cuvées in the Arnoux-Lachaux cellar, produced in minute quantities each year. Charles’ holding sits right on the border with the Grand Crus of Morey-Saint-Denis, and the wine seems to borrow something of that wilder, more untamed character from its neighbour.
2022 also marks the Domaine’s first vintage raised entirely in ceramic.
Please note: We work directly with the Domaine, therefore all wines are available strictly on allocation. The wines are intended for drinking, not trading and are priced accordingly.

Tasting Notes
Intricate perfume, turned earth and dark savoury depth. A rare, powerful Grand Cru that unfolds slowly in the glass.

One of the rarest cuvées in the Arnoux-Lachaux cellar, produced in minute quantities each year.
The perfume is extraordinarily intricate and delicate. This is not a wine that leads with fruit. Instead, it unfolds slowly, drawing you in layer by layer, like a great women’s perfume lingering on the nose.
Turned earth, a touch of vanilla, something almost bittersweet that hints at blood orange. It’s captivating, and it rewards patience.
On the palate, the power is unmistakable, but it’s expressed through savoury depth rather than brightness. This isn’t fresh fruit in a bowl. It’s more like a Michelin-starred reduction to accompany duck: dark, glossy, enriched with fruit rather than defined by it.
Serious, composed and deeply complex.
And perhaps nowhere is the 2022 ceramic élevage more fascinating. With no oak imprint sitting over that intricate perfume and savoury depth, the character of the wine feels completely exposed.
Absolutely spectacular.

The Plot
Charles’ Latricières-Chambertin holding sits right on the border with the Grand Crus of Morey-Saint-Denis.
It is a tiny holding, producing minute quantities each year, and the wine has a character quite distinct from the more immediately fruit-driven cuvées in the cellar.
There is something darker and more untamed here. The perfume is intricate rather than obvious, the palate savoury and powerful, and the wine reveals itself slowly rather than giving everything away at once.
This is a Grand Cru that asks for your attention.
Technical Details
2022 was the first vintage in which the entire Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux range was raised exclusively in ceramic.
The wines spent an extended 36 months in neutral Clayver ceramic vessels before bottling. The intention is to remove the aromatic and structural influence of oak, leaving the fruit, tannins and individual character of each vineyard as exposed as possible.
Whole grapes remain central to the winemaking, alongside Charles Lachaux’s distinctive vineyard approach of tall, untrimmed vines and permanent vegetation between the rows.
Latricières-Chambertin makes a particularly compelling case for that approach. This is already an extraordinarily complex wine, built around perfume, earth, savoury depth and power rather than overt fruit. Ceramic leaves those layers unobscured, allowing one of the Domaine’s rarest Grand Crus to speak entirely in its own voice.

Discover Their Story
There are turning points in every great region. Moments where tradition meets vision, and something extraordinary happens. For Burgundy, one of those moments is Charles Lachaux with the family domaine, Arnoux-Lachaux.
Since taking the reins of his family domaine in 2012, Charles has transformed Arnoux-Lachaux into one of the most closely followed names in the region. The wines are now among the most sought-after in the world – not for their rarity alone, but for their clarity, precision, and sense of life.
Our Take
Reading back through my notes, one word recurs like a heartbeat: perfume. Not as a throwaway cliché, but as a presence that truly rises from the glass. These 2022s may still be infants, but the leap forward Charles and the team have achieved is astonishing.
