Wine Details
Chassagne with Depth. Held Back, For Now.
An absolute peach of a Premier Cru, sitting within Morgeot on a chalk-rich, pale “white” terroir that gives the wine its name.
The nose is immediately expressive. Citrus, grapefruit, green apple, a touch of stone fruit, all layered over a fine smoky reduction and a cool, stony edge.
On the palate, it builds. There’s real weight here, but it never tips over. Yellow fruit and a hint of cream bring breadth, before a tightening line of acidity pulls everything back into focus. Mineral, precise, and quietly powerful.
It carries long. Structured, detailed, and still very much in its shell.
This is Chassagne with presence. Give it time, and it will show you everything.
The Plot
Les Vignes Blanches lies within the broader Morgeot Premier Cru in Chassagne-Montrachet, known for its deeper soils and naturally more powerful wines. This particular parcel is defined by its chalk-rich, pale soils, often referred to as “white” terroir, which bring added tension, precision, and mineral drive to the wine.
Technical
100% Chardonnay from the Les Vignes Blanches parcel within Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru Morgeot, grown on chalk-rich clay-limestone soils that enhance both structure and minerality.
In the cellar, the approach follows the domaine’s signature style. Whole bunches are pressed long and firmly to extract maximum lees, with controlled oxidation only at this early stage. Fermentation takes place in custom 456-litre barrels for both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, keeping oak influence subtle and allowing the vineyard character to lead. From pressing to bottling, the wine is protected with nitrogen, preserving freshness, tension, and a long, structured profile built for ageing.
