Vinelights
Volnay’s Powerhouse. 1er Cru Pedigree. First Mentioned in 1476.
Pierrick Bouley’s Clos des Chênes comes from one of Volnay’s most iconic Premier Crus—first mentioned in records dating back to 1476. The vineyard sits on a south-facing slope with shallow, stony soils and limestone just beneath the surface, lending the wine its distinctive freshness and structure.
In 2021, this Volnay is all finesse and focus: blackcurrant, raspberry and plum fruit, violet aromatics, black pepper spice, and a mineral streak that hums through the finish. Fermented without sulfur and aged in barrel for 12 months, it’s already showing class—but time will only make it better.
📍 The Plot
