There is real Chassagne generosity here: ripe citrus, white peach and pear, a gently creamy texture and just enough almond and oak in the background. But the richness never takes over. A fine line of acidity and salinity keeps the palate fresh, energetic and beautifully defined.
This is where the Morey-Coffinet style really comes into focus. There is more depth and volume than the Bourgogne, but the same precision remains, giving a village Chassagne that feels polished, expressive and remarkably complete.
Ripe and silky, with citrus, white peach, pear, almond and brioche, lifted by saline freshness and mineral precision.
“Excellent wines from small producers which you can’t find elsewhere.”
Verified Trustpilot Review“The service has always been personal and excellent.”
Verified Trustpilot Review“Great wines, very reasonably priced, and customer service is excellent.”
Verified Trustpilot Review“Ben is super friendly, knowledgeable and takes time out to make sure you are assisted personally.”

Tasting Notes
Generous, silky and beautifully precise Chassagne, with ripe citrus, white peach, salinity and a long, vibrant finish.

A beautifully complete expression of Chassagne-Montrachet.
The 2023 brings together three village parcels, Les Chaumes, Lombardes and Charrières, giving the wine both breadth and detail.
There is ripe citrus, white peach and pear at the centre, with a little orange zest, almond and gentle oak adding complexity. The palate is broad and silky, with real depth, but a bright line of acidity and salinity keeps everything fresh and energetic.
Part of the wine was raised in clay jars, helping preserve that sense of tension and purity through the richer fruit.
Generous, detailed and beautifully balanced, with a long, vibrant finish and a real sense of place.

The Plot
This village Chassagne comes from 1.57 hectares of Chardonnay across three parcels: Les Chaumes, Lombardes and Charrières.
The vineyards sit on the lower slopes with varying exposures, over the clay-limestone soils that define much of Chassagne-Montrachet. The vines span several generations, with plantings dating from 1960, 1976, 1982, 1986 and 2012.
Rather than relying on a single site, the cuvée brings together different expressions of the village. That gives the wine both breadth and complexity, with the richer, more generous side of Chassagne balanced by freshness, tension and mineral definition.
Technical Details
100% Chardonnay, hand harvested from certified organic vineyards, with Morey-Coffinet also working according to biodynamic principles.
The vines are trained using traditional Guyot-Poussard pruning and the soils are cultivated mechanically. The domaine has been certified organic since 2018 and has worked with biodynamic principles since 2015, using composts, horn manure, herbal preparations and horn silica to support soil and vine health.
The village cuvée is normally raised for 11 to 13 months in 228 and 350 litre oak barrels, with around 30 to 40% new oak. For the 2023, 15% of the wine was instead raised in clay jars, helping preserve freshness and tension.
The wine is bottled unfiltered.
