En Cailleret is one of the great names of Chassagne-Montrachet, a stony Premier Cru hillside where Morey-Coffinet farms just 0.65 hectares of Chardonnay.
The 2023 is bright, intense and beautifully alive. Ripe citrus, white peach and orchard fruit give the wine richness and texture, while flint, salinity and a fine pithy grip pull everything into focus.
There is real depth here, but never heaviness. The fruit feels generous and silky, held beautifully in check by fresh acidity and that long mineral line running through the palate.

Tasting Notes
Thrilling Premier Cru Chassagne: bright, saline and intense, with citrus, white peach, mineral tension and a long finish.

This is the wine that makes you sit up. En Cailleret has a wonderful combination of richness and energy. The 2023 opens with ripe citrus, white peach and pear, with a little waxy depth and that cool, stony character that seems to become more pronounced the longer it sits in the glass.
Then you taste it, and everything tightens into focus.
There is richness here, but it is held beautifully in check. Citrus, orchard fruit and mineral tension are all pulled through the palate with that long, mouth-watering line that makes you want to go straight back in.
The texture is silky and generous, but underneath it is serious structure: bright acidity, fine pithy grip, flint and a saline edge that carries right through the finish.
It has that extra thing. That little pulse. That sense that something special is happening in the glass.
A thrilling Premier Cru Chassagne: bright, saline, intense, and completely unforgettable.

The Plot
En Cailleret sits on the hillside above Chassagne-Montrachet, with Morey-Coffinet farming a tiny 0.65-hectare parcel with a southeast exposure.
The Chardonnay vines were planted in 1985 and 1990 and grow over a complex mix of clay, limestone and marl.
The name Cailleret speaks to the extraordinary quantity of stone found here, and that feels wonderfully appropriate when you taste the wine. Beneath the ripe fruit is a persistent stony character, building through the palate into flint, fine grip and a distinctly saline finish.
It is a site capable of combining real Chassagne richness with tension, precision and serious mineral depth.
Technical Details
100% Chardonnay, hand harvested from Morey-Coffinet's certified organic vineyards, with the domaine also working according to biodynamic principles.
The 0.65-hectare parcel is trained using single Guyot pruning, with the soils cultivated mechanically.
Vinification and élevage take place for 14 to 16 months in a combination of 228 and 350 litre oak barrels, with the domaine using between 30 and 50% new oak.
The wine is fined with bentonite but left unfiltered before bottling under natural cork and wax.
