Tasting

Notes

Don’t let the label fool you—this is a regional wine with village-level swagger. Sourced from Puligny-Montrachet (75%) and a Fixin (25%) plot just promoted to village status, it’s flinty, floral, and full of finesse. Green apple, nectarine, and lemon glide over a creamy undercurrent of hazelnut and brioche. Pure, precise, and way too drinkable. We’d drink it nightly—if that weren’t frowned upon.

WOW! To us, this is nothing short of the perfect union. The elegant charm of the Côte de Beaune meets the rich depth of the Côte de Nuits. A flirtation of Puligny with a touch of Fixin, and it’s a symphony in every sip. This is not simply a Bourgogne. This is a treasure to grace your glass, one that deserves to never stop. Elegant, expressive, and utterly divine.

The Puligny Plot Twist. A Burgundy Bargain Hiding in Plain Sight.

From the first swirl, this wine charms. Flint and blossom lead the charge, followed by green apple, nectarine and lemon. There’s a soft breeze of garrigue and hazelnut in the background, with buttery brioche smoothing out the edges. Fresh, focused, and full of verve—it’s bright but never brash, rounded yet zippy. A wine that punches far above its weight and then buys you a drink after.

📍 The Plot

A tale of two sites: one in Fixin’s Ravry vineyard (soon to be officially Fixin), the other in Puligny-Montrachet—yes, that Puligny. Both are worked by hand and vinified with care, giving this wine structure, sap, and the kind of clarity usually reserved for fancier postcodes. “Cuvée Lisa et Julia” may sound soft—but this is serious Chardonnay in disguise.

75% from Pulginy-Montrachet / 25% from Fixin.

Vineyard Bourgogne

Regional Appellation

6,694 Acres Farmed

Bourgogne, the broadest appellation in Burgundy, offers a diverse introduction to the region’s rich winemaking heritage. Spanning a wide range of terroirs, from the rolling hills of the Côte d'Or to the cooler northern vineyards, Bourgogne produces both red and white wines, with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay at the forefront. The reds are characterised by fresh red fruit flavours, smooth tannins, and earthy undertones, while the whites are marked by bright acidity, crisp minerality, and notes of citrus and green apple.

The wines from Bourgogne come from vineyards with varying soil types, including limestone, clay, and marl, which help to express a true sense of place. Burgundy’s temperate climate, with a balance of sun and rain, allows the grapes to ripen slowly, resulting in wines with both freshness and complexity. The region’s varied terroirs and microclimates contribute to a fascinating range of wine styles, making Bourgogne an ideal starting point for exploring the diversity of Burgundy’s wines.

With a long history at the heart of Burgundy’s winemaking tradition, Bourgogne wines are often the first step on a Burgundy journey. These wines offer approachable yet authentic expressions of the region’s key varietals, providing excellent value while showcasing Burgundy’s terroir. Whether for newcomers or seasoned wine enthusiasts, Bourgogne wines are a perfect introduction to the complexity and charm of the region.

The Bourgogne appellation embodies the essence of Burgundy, where passion, tradition, and craftsmanship come together to create wines that are both accessible and full of character. Whether enjoyed young or with some bottle age, Bourgogne wines offer a true taste of the region’s celebrated winemaking culture.

Vineyard Bourgogne Côte d’Or

Vineyard Bourgogne Côte d’Or

Regional Appellation

842 Acres Farmed

The Bourgogne Côte d'Or is a newly established regional classification that celebrates the unique terroir of Burgundy’s most famous wine-producing region. This appellation encompasses the renowned vineyards of both the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune, offering wines that represent the diversity and exceptional quality of the region. While the wines are still crafted from the same prestigious vineyards, the broader Bourgogne Côte d'Or classification provides a more inclusive representation of the area’s winemaking prowess, showcasing its wide range of styles and expressions.

Spanning from the northern Côte de Nuits, home to iconic Pinot Noir villages like Gevrey-Chambertin and Nuits-Saint-Georges, to the southern Côte de Beaune, celebrated for its Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, and Volnay, the Bourgogne Côte d'Or appellation brings together the best of both sub-regions. The reds range from the structured, elegant Pinot Noirs of the north to the more fruit-forward, complex examples from the south, while the whites showcase the minerality and depth of Chardonnay and Aligoté, all grown in the limestone-rich soils of this legendary region.

This classification also serves as a recognition of wines that may not fall under specific appellations like Meursault or Nuits-Saint-Georges, but still embody the exceptional terroir and winemaking tradition of the Côte d'Or. Bourgogne Côte d'Or wines offer an accessible introduction to the region, making it easier for wine enthusiasts to explore the wines of Burgundy while still experiencing the quality and craftsmanship the region is known for. These wines are a testament to Burgundy’s rich winemaking history and its ability to produce wines of extraordinary character.
