Gamay Grown Up.
From a 3.8 ha parcel in the ‘En Mortperay’ climat, this is a modern Moulin-à-Vent with Burgundy precision and a mineral spine. Forget bubblegum and bananas — this is ripe raspberry, black cherry and spice, underpinned by tannin grip and a flick of iron-rich earth. There’s plush fruit, but also tension and structure, thanks to whole bunches, open fermentation, and a smart élevage in foudre and old oak. It’s Gamay in a tailored suit — and yes, it fits beautifully.
📍 The Plot
Located in the eastern part of Moulin-à-Vent, ‘En Mortperay’ sits on sandy, wind-swept granite soils, with a mix of manganese, iron and copper seams that give the wine its power and mineral cut. Exposure to wind concentrates the fruit — and the altitude brings freshness.
🍇 Technical
100% Gamay. 100% whole bunch. From 2022, all carbonic maceration was dropped. Fermentation is now traditional with whole bunches, manual punchdowns, and gentle pressing. Aged 8–9 months in large foudre and old 228L barrels before blending and bottling by gravity. No-nonsense, proper Beaujolais from a house that knows finesse.
