Vinelights
Refined but Never Reserved
This isn’t a Chardonnay that shouts. It glows. From 50-year-old vines on clay soils, Adrien’s 2023 is graceful, layered and unmistakably Burgundy. You’ll find lemon zest, green apple and a lick of buttered toast, lifted by a fresh mineral snap of flint and reduction. Aged for 8 months in 50% oak, it’s creamy without being cloying—generous without ever tipping over. In short: it’s seriously smart and at absolutely unbeatable value.
📍 The Plot
Grown in a parcel adjacent to his Aligoté, these 50-year-old Chardonnay vines are rooted in the same clay-rich soils of Gilly-lès-Cîteaux, just across the road from Chambolle-Musigny. His training at Domaine de la Vougeraie shines through in the precision and lift—every detail feels finely tuned, and nothing is wasted.
