Vinelights
Courtyard Pinot. Old Vines. Whole Bunch Elegance. Only 2,000 bottles made.
This isn’t just a pretty Pinot—it’s one with layers. From 45-year-old vines in the “Les Treuilles” plot, this Fixin red opens with cherry, cranberry and a flicker of clove. The palate brings tension and generosity in equal measure: soft structure, vibrant acidity, and just enough grip to promise a long, graceful evolution in the cellar.
The Name
‘Côté Cour’ refers to the “courtyard side” of the stage in French theatre—what we’d call “stage left” in the UK (far less poetic!). It forms a duo with Côté Jardin, its white counterpart from the same limestone-rich plot. Together, they reflect the harmony and contrast of two grape varieties, grown side by side and given a stage-worthy performance in bottle.
Technical
100% Pinot Noir from 45-year-old vines on limestone-dominant soils. 30% whole bunch. Cold maceration (8 days at 8°C). Gentle extraction with 5 punch-downs and mostly pumping over. Aged 12 months in French oak (30% new). No filtration. Just 2,000 bottles made, plus 30 magnums.
