The Aligoté That Thinks It’s Silk
This isn’t the sharp little country white you thought you knew. Instead, Esprit Granit unfurls with honeyed florals, lemon zest, and white peach, before melting into velvet layers of texture. There’s freshness, yes – but the kind that lengthens and lifts, not bites. A silken Aligoté of poise and charm, the kind you don’t forget in a lineup.
📍 The Plot
The vines sit in the granite soils of the Couchois, a rare terroir in Burgundy that gifts the wine both power and minerality. Maison Les 4 Lunes lets that volcanic undercurrent shine, keeping élevage simple: ten months in stainless steel to preserve clarity. The grapes reached golden ripeness, and malolactic was deliberately blocked to capture freshness against the opulent fruit.
🍇 Technical
Fermented and aged 10 months in stainless steel. Grapes harvested at full ripeness with remarkable golden skins. Malolactic fermentation was blocked to retain lift and vibrancy. Member of the exclusive Les Aligotéurs association, a recognition reserved for Burgundy’s most serious and expressive Aligotés.
