Where Puligny Meets Meursault
Les Corvées des Vignes sits on the northern edge of Puligny, brushing up against Meursault-Charmes 1er Cru. Philippe’s 2023 shows the best of both worlds: Puligny’s cut-glass minerality and citrus drive, with a hint of wild fern and gentle roundness nodding to its Meursault neighbour. Crisp green apple, lemon and lime zest lead the way, underpinned by white blossom and a subtle almond finish. Pretty, balanced and highly drinkable. Puligny elegance at its most charming.
📍 The Plot
Chavy farms two parcels here, totalling 0.64 ha, with old vines planted in 1948, 1950 and 1952. Soils are thin clay over limestone, giving the wines their lean, mineral edge. With only around 4,300 bottles made in a normal year, it’s a small but prized part of the domaine’s holdings.
🍇 Technical
Hand-harvested Chardonnay, whole-bunch pressed, fermented in tank, then finished in barrel. Aged 11 months in 228L oak (10–20% new), 16 months’ élevage in total.
